Central Lock is a family owned business located in Mason City, Iowa that is locally owned and operated. Central Lock has a staff of six, three service vehicles, and over 57 years of experience. Bob Wells established Central Lock in 1961 and passed ownership on to his grandson, Nathan Deets.
Third generation owner Nathan has cause to celebrate. He has celebrated Central Lock's 50th anniversary in 2011.
As the year gets into full gear, Central Lock faces new challenges. The automotive industry has created a high security car key that makes it almost impossible for car theft and very difficult for locksmiths to duplicate. We have invested in two very unique pieces of equipment to be able to duplicate and program sidewinder keys, also known as a laser-cut key.
Nathan explains how important it is to educate the customer on their automotive keys. "Most people don't realize that the one vehicle key they're carrying around may cost anywhere from $60 to over $150 to duplicate."
When people lose their car keys they may not be prepared. It is always smart to have a spare. Central Lock now offers competitive prices for transponder computer chip keys and has a coupon in every Mason City Yellow Book.
